Track results... this normal??

Last night I made 5 runs at the local 1/8th mile track:
Times were 7.640,7.641,7.630,7.631,7.630
MPH were 90.1 +/- .1
60 foots were 1.67 +/- .01
And even my reaction times were all within .03 of each other.

I have never run so consitent before. Felt kind of freakish. Anyone else ever have nights like that? I wanted 7.5Xs pretty bad. My 60 foots usually vary from 1.63s to 1.75s. A 1.63 would have put me where I wanted but the truck just wouldn't do anything different. On the bright side I may have a future in bracket racing .

Thanks guys.
I hope to make it to a quarter mile track some time soon. The closest one is 3.5 hours away. It would be cooler to say "I ran in the 11s" instead of "I ran 7.5s".

69,
Have you been to a dyno with your mods? Not trying to diss your times, 7.5 is smoking but the mph seems low. I went 8.00 @ 88mph on my 12.52 pass. I would have guessed a much bigger difference (MPH) with your mods. I hope to crack that 7.99/11.99 next spring.

90.2 mph for a 7.50 is a little low but for a 7.59(what I wanted to run) I think a low 90 mph is normal. At least that is what I gathered from looking at other peoples numbers.

Don't let the numbers fool you. It takes a good bit of hp to gain 2 mph in the 1/8th mile on with the weight of our trucks.

Also it isn't apples-to-apples to compare mph from different tracks at different times. For a good example of what my "extra mods" gain it's probably good to compare my truck to another L also running a 6# pulley in the same conditions. Look at Injector Dudes recent post on his new best. He ran a best of 8.01@85.3 with a 1.72 60ft time the same night, same at the track, with in minutes of me.

Sorry no recent dynos.

69 Roadster,

I don't think your mph is slow. I was comparing a S/C Z06 timeslip with mine.

He had 94.37 at the 1/8th compared to my 91.82
He had 7.872 at the 1/8 compared to my 7.440

He had 118.62 at the 1/4 compared to my 114.54
He had 11.998 at the 1/4 compared to my 11.71

My point is that he had .3 more time than me to accelerate in the 1/4 before reaching the traps. I think with a decent 60 ft time anything faster than 90 would put most Lightnings in the 11s

Jim

Man, bet that was pretty fun beating a s/c Z06. Talking about bragging rights. You got one mean truck there.

Question

69R: I d/k where Madison is located but there is a pretty good 1/4 mile track(SDR) in Reynolds, GA.
