Seanson filter kit

Mine was good for 5 HP over stock airbox with a 4 inch hole cut in the bottom. By far the best filter setup on the market!

I had no intention on replacing the after market system I had, but this kit is such a great setup I couldn't resist.

Swanson filter

The reason that I believe it is the best is because of the way it is constructed and the way it does not interrupt air flow. It mounts in the stock holes and the filter is supported on both ends. It has a shield to keep hot air from exhaust manifolds from getting to the filter. The shield also prevents fan wash . Now the real good part. Billet adapter is same size as the inside of the air meter. (mot filter kits that I have seen are a bit smaller than the air meter) Air charge temp sender is not disturbing air flow as it is off to the side with ports leading to and from it. It looks like it came from the factory. Mine has a black anodized adapter ring along with a black anodized filter bracket. It even has these neat little machined adapters that go into the holes used by the stock air box. I know, everyone will say it is just a filter, but it is really a neat piece! It works great too. I really did pick up 5 HP at the rear wheels on Dannys dyno. Looks great and works great! What else could you ask for. It is a great mod. Skip

looks nice, but i like the longer powerstack style filters better (not compensating here )

am an very curious about the IAT sensor, seems like overkill to say the least to go to the trouble of mounting it like that. this sensor doesnt interrupt airflow, it is tiny.

could you show some pictures of the "ports" goint to and from the sensor.

again, looks cool though.

I wonder why nobody makes cold air boxes out of plastic, may not look as nice, but would SEEM to be cheaper and could be made into whatever curved shapes necessary to fit closely around other components in the area of the filter. seems like an injection moulded (or however it is that they make plastic stuff) "bucket" or air box would work great and have the added benefit of not transfering heat.

later,
chris

Chris, I have a pic in my gallery that might show you what you want to see. I would post it, but I'm new to all of this and having a few problems.

It does look nice. I'd get an Outerwear 'sock' to keep your filter clean longer.

I have the same setup, and I can testify that it put over 30rwhp from my after market air intake (Valont) to this sweet setup!!!
I have dyno results to prove the difference as well as a fellow L brother.
