flowmasters.....again

I've done multiple searching on this subject but theres just too many opinionative answers out there to get a clear answer. Whats the real deal with these mufflers? Do they lower performance? How could they be more restrictive? Anyone running them on an 01-02? Any recorded gains or losses? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Flowmasters

ive heard you lose low end torque but gain high end. They just really lowd, especially 40 series. I would go wtih magnaflow if you want a good sound thats not overloud and it gaines you low end power.

flows give you that big block sound that I want, I just couldn't imagine putting on a "quiet" exhaust.

I've got flowmasters and it sounds good. Girls always compliment the rumble after I take them for a ride. But...there will be a Bassani on my baby ASAP.

Notice any performance differences between stock and flows?

Cool

Stay away from the dual in / dual out single Flow. I've been there and done that. It is too restrictive at high rpm. It sounds like ***** at WOT too.

i have that muffler, and i cant hear anything but the blower at WOT anyway, at least inside the truck. and all my friends say they like the way it sounds outside, like a big block. a quiet exhaust is useless, i dont care how much power it makes. the L has enough hp to spare a few for a nasty exhaust tone.

OK........... one more time. I dynoed dual 40 series deltaflows. Lost top end HP, but gained a lot of bottom end torque. Fuel mileage unchanged from stock. Boost went up past ten on the stock meter with only a PSP air filter kit to complement it. The back pressure was very high and I burned the mufflers up after 2000 miles. I changed to Borla and gained top end HP and the torque went back down some. I gained 35 miles for every 22 gals of fuel used. The Flowmasters sounded pretty good at low rpms; but, at high rpms, under a load, they made a wet flapping sound that was very annoying. Others claim better results. These are the results I recieved. I would not recommend Flowmasters for a turbocharged or supercharged engine.

Unoid, when you say you're from Northeastern, do you mean Northeastern University? cuz if so thats where i live/go to school, and my dad is a professor there and drives my L in on a regular basis. that would be too cool if you go to school here.
