What is the fastest speed (MPH) that you have ever gone in a Lightning?

Offically 157 can be verified by radar on one of the web sites,for open road racing.Unoffically 168.Wish I had broke 180 but not as of yet BUT................ look out this year.with the upgrades should top out past that by a few.Will know in June at Wendover.Stan

Hey Ruslow, there's a guy here in town with an '02 that says he clocked his L at 165 with a digital gauge. Stock 3.73 gear, works 112 blower @14 psi on stock bottom end. Is this possible...it sounds far fetched.

You would probably need quite a stretch of road on a downgrade for that kind of speed.

taking a pic of the speedo at that speed isn't that bad compared to the guys who videotaped it going that fast there were a few videos posted a while back with somebody steering with one hand and video taping with the other

It just depends how stupid you are? If you are as dumb as me you are going to get one mandatort court apperance (MCA) and a ticket by the same cop all in under 4 hours apart.

the cop wrote 160+ so i could just pay it underneith he wrote the actual speed so if i wanted to fight it the judge would see it and i would probily lose my licence for 2 years.

All you had to do was tell the judge your speedo was off a bit and you thought you where only going 65.

I got off both these tickets, My friend whom is a RCMP told me the cop that wrote these const Moral (moron) is away on sick leave. Showed up to fight them no cop, no ticket. Got away scott free
