HMMM...I wonder if the performance gain will offset the cost and more importantly the labor to do the camshafts and springs. Changing plugs is bad enough, I couldn't imagine doing valve springs with the heads installed.

Yep, the Modmax cams are out, although the first run has already sold out, due to preorders. I've got a few sets on the way for customers, and ModMax should have more within two weeks.

There are 6 different ModMax cams; 3 for SOHC and 3 for DOHC, but only one of the SOHC grinds is proper for the Lightning. I've discussed all the different specs with them, and we will be selling the proper ones.

LOL, cams just showed up as I was writing this, I'll try to snap some pics a little later.

Sal,

I am not going to ask for time slips or ask what kind of gain to expect because it all depends on the "combination". I know you are trying to sell cams and other parts, but do you think it is really worth doing a cam job if there are just basically bolt on's already done? I would think that a good set of heads or intake manifolds would compliment the cams. Is it really worth the work for the normal daily driver if these mods (heads/intake) aren't done?

Paul, I think the cams are really more for the hard core guys, that are building motors and doing ported heads. I don't really see it being worth the expense for that average "bolt on" guy, but until some get bolted in trucks, who really knows. Maybe in a stock headed truck these cams would be worth .4. If so, it that a worthy gain to you? People pay $1000 for convertors that get you .2-.3, and $1500 for exhaust systems that gain you .1-.2 if you are lucky. Only time will tell once they get in some trucks.

Two of the three available cams for the sohc motors are made for the higher revving 4.6L motors, but one of them is good for we Lightning owners, according to Dale. (ModPerf)

We'll be doing some testing with them to make sure they work well for our application. If they give real world additional performance, we will be offering them.

For me, probably. Once all of the low$ mods are done, there is only one way to go and that is up in price. It's not like the old mustang days where there are tons of companies making everything you can imagine. We have a pretty limited amount of mods to pick from at this point and a limited amount of companies making them. You know how it is...once you hit a wall, throw more money at so you can go faster.
