just got 99L what to do for $500.

i just purchased a red 1999 lightning. 3500 miles on it. i drive it daily and want to throw a little more punch in it. what are the most resonable and reliable things to do to it. i am hoping to get it in the low 13's by next spring. dont want to spend much more than $500.00 if possible. i will probably spend more as time goes on. it is bone stock right now. i want to keep it a daily driver. i couldnt stand to let it sit all the time it to much fun to drive. my last svt was a 1994 cobra and this truck blows that away. any hot tips would be appreciated.

Welcome to the board.

Chip, filter, lower pulley and plugs = mid to high 12's and you keep your drivability.

Check the classifieds for deals and use the search button and the F.A.Q. to try and answer questions.

Hope this helps
Jason

I would definatly get a flip chip of some kind.Next get a mass air upgrade to the 01L specs and air filter kit.

Browse over on this forum in the supporting vendors section www.nloc.net

As they said, save up a little more because if you get an air kit you should also ge the 90 mil. MAS. If not you will have to reburn the chip again for it, also get a chip, a single will be fine for a daily driver. Next get a lower pulley, shift kit and new plugs, and a breather cap.

I'd go with a flip chip and a 90mm mass air. I have no plans what so ever to change the pullies. Don't want to be a stat of yet another over blown engine that fails.
