Autometer Electric Fuel Pressure and Water Temp install help/????

Don't call the search police, i just read through 8 pages of threads!! But alot of the info it old and maybe you guys have come up with new tricks. Here's my questions

1)Where is the best place to take the temp reading from??? I was told the upper intake, but I'm not to keen on tapping the intake, or the thermostat manifold for that matter. I seen the pictures of the "T" in the heater hose, that looks promising. What will I need for this and which hose should I tap???

2)As for the fuel pressure sender....I haven't looked at the schrader valve set up, but do you actually remove the valve, or does the sender connect to the valve??? Would I bet better off to run a line from the valve and mont the sender on the fire wall???

3) Last but not least.....the lights i'm going to tie into the ash tray light wire, but where do you guys recommend tying in the power source and grounds for the guages?? Any info and pics are appreciated

RE: The FP gauge, you need that damn 1/16th to 1/8th adapter for the fuel rail. If you dont have one, call Scummit and get it or else you wont be installing that sending unit.

You can get the light source from the ash try. Whatever you do, DO NOT try to power the gauges off taping the fuse box. Find an ignition switch +12 using a light probe.

I didnt install a water temp gauge. I dont see why you cant use a T fitting too hook up @ the stock location of the ford sending unit.

It's late but I also hate not knowing. I'll go look at what I tapped into. I think that it's a green wire with a red stripe. Now to test my memory. Give me a minute, and I'll make sure.

much appreciated

you can't tap into the stock sender unit, the ohms from the senders are different.

Anyone who t'd into the heater hose, what did you use fo rfittings?

Memory failed. Big blue wire with a green stripe It's located right under the steering column. This tapps into the ignition, and the one that you want for gauges. If you have backlighting you can tap into the blue wire with red stripe that's located all over the place. Easily found in the ash tray, and on the passengers side if you remove the side cover. Note the side cover must be pulled straight back, trust me.

Also for the ground I just used the metal plate below the steering column that's by the dash. Any good metal connection should work fine.
