How to Dyno...

How does everyone have their trucks run on the dynos? We've had a real hard time here getting it to not downshift.

Do you run it in second or what?

Bring it up through the gears and roll into it quick at around 3100-3300 rpms.

Your just not going to get any data at lower rpms with these transmissions.

Turn off the O/D, roll it through the gears and give it a quick roll into the gas from about 3000RPMs in 3rd gear.

One thing I like to do is get to the dyno early and let the motor cool down. If you start with approximately the same operating temperatures you will take one of the variables out of the picture when comparing dyno runs.

In Drive(3rd) with the o/d OFF, bring it up to about 3,100 rpms and then nail it! It shouldn't downshift at 3,100 which you don't want it to do that.
