Just got back from the Muffler shop
Well i just got back from the local muffler shop and i had them put on a magnaflow muffler and i also had them cut off 2 cat's.. OMG This thing sounds so damn awsome. Anyway, by taking off the 2 cats did i lose or gain any power or TQ??
Don't know about gaining or losing horsepower or torque, but you just violated federal emmisions laws if you intend to drive your L on the street. The muffler shop is also subject to a hefty fine. They certainly should know better.

i had 2 high flows put on instead of the stock 4. but the funny thing is, the muffler shop guy offered it to me right away, i didnt even mention it or try to talk him into it....maybe he didnt know the law? hes the one that mentioned it to me in the first place....sad thing is i didnt know i was breaking the law either...
hey.. i chop off the cats usually in the same week i get a truck. it all depends on how loud your exhaust is and where you are located. if you live in cali... keep your cats. but if you live in a small to medium sized town.. it doesnt matter. only thing that matters is if you are in an area that does emmisions testing on vehicles. down in south texas if your truck isnt running straight pipes blapping down the road almost shattering windows... youre ok. actually it helps your engine since it frees up all that backpressure it is creating.. i put in straight pipes on my friends lil 89 cherokee yesterday and its sounds like a lil buzzsaw runnin down the road... but nobody cares, and he has a state trooper as a neighbor and the guy said its ok unless you go into large cities and get a emissions trest thrown on ya... sorry fer the length.. im rambling again...
