NEED HELP!! Truck won't idle
This morning was fine and made it to work. Now I leave for lunch and the thing won't stay runnning. It will crank fine and just dies:mad: . I have to keep the gas on so it will run and that's how I made it home just now. I just changed the fuel filter about 500 miles ago. I got no check engine light on:confused: . What could it be? plugs?

got any mods? lately? sounds like a fuel pump.
|
I would guess the hose slipped off your pump. Check to make sure your MAF and intake tubes are plugged in too.

All I got is an Air Aid

Hey Eddie
call me at work 770 446 8617 Jeff |
Sounds like a big vacuum leak to me. Pumps usually cause problems under load, idles are fine.
|
Is it dying as soon as it starts. If so, sound like mass air to me.

Idle Air Control (IAC)
|
Well, I just got back to work and it ran fine:confused: . It just got really cold down here maybe that's it:D . I will check all these things once I get some time. But shouldn't I get a Check Engine light or something?
Thanks |
ED
Forgot to tell ya GOOD LUCK on your Race!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff |
Hummmm, my truck seems to be loving this cold weather. Im thinking about going to the track friday.
|
When my IAC fouled I did not get a check engine light. It did exactly as you described, Start and die. You can check if the IAC is the problem easy enough. Next time the truck won't idle, hit the IAC a few times. If it is the problem, tapping it will unstick it and the truck will idle on it's own.

Mines too Spank.:D
