Rob's Up and Running Fine Again :o)
Rob's Up and Running Fine Again :o)
Thats what I'm talking about.
Well for those who say the plugs get easier the second time around, I say, Bull ****** Schitt. Actually I shouldn't say that, the plugs are actually the easy part now, it's those dam coil bolts on the drivers side back 2 that ruin the whole job. It took me longer this time than last I think, but I was going over every square inch of that motor, every hose and plug, gasket, nut bolt and bracket looking for remains of my smoke show at the track the other day.
ALL SEEMS FINE (A TRUE MYSTERY ???)
Right now I'm worried about what the top of my pistons look like.
But the good news is everything seems fine, it's back to the old crappy factory idle, just like I remember it. Of course I'm scared schittless to give it any gas because it's in the 40's here tonight and if I even feather touch the gas it goes off the scale. My stock size upper to fit my Dial Ur Boost Hub will back on by the weekend. I'm almost looking foward to tunning it down so I can get into it again. I filled it up with Ultra 94 octane and a bottle of the most expensive pennzoil Synthetic ejector cleaner I could find. The new colder plugs should keep me safe a while too.
I will add one good fact: My spring loaded check valve works AWESOME. I have absolutly """""NO""""" oil in my throttle body and use to have plenty. For now the PCV system is back to stock and the valve and Breather is off. Next time I check the throttle body, it'll be wet again "I'm sure". Then the check valve will go back on.
I want to Thank everybody for all your help with the questions I've had over the past few days. THIS IS LIKE HAVING FRIENDS AGAIN
Special Thanks to my Tuners down in Alabama, THANKS BFB + HOOTERS, your the best. These guys spent probaly 4 hours on the phone with me over the last few days brain storming and trying to help figure this out.
I also want to say Thanks to Sal of PSP for letting me stop by today, it's always a pleasure seeing the BEAST in person. Not you Sal, THE LIGHTNING
Dam that thing is Beautiful in person. I promised him I wouldn't tell everyone about his new ET's at the track, oops did I just say that.

Great glad to here it...Those pistons will take a woopin'...now the rods
Did you have Sal check your A/F while you were there? You might want to have that done since your engine loves to eat plugs..:o

Jeff,
Didn't have the truck with me unfortunatly, I stopped by to pick up the Denso's. I ""might"" be able to get in on a Dyno Day he's having Friday, but I lost a 1/2 day last Friday when this happen, then another 3/4's of a day today fixing it, so I don't know if I'll be able to make it, I need to Dyno it real soon, and plan too somehow ?
As for the Rod's, is it a brake or not brake situation with these, or could I have weakened them

I don't think you can weaken them by detonation.. I think it's a clean run or a hole in the side of the block thing
When you run big pulleys you need to have a backup plan in your mind "if" something happens...You should be good. I would just get some A/F's to be sure...The dyno thing will tell you how your running. If you make big power safely then your poor times are either track conditions or driver error...meaning bad 60' times..

Day two and ALL IS WELL
New pulley should be here tomorrow, then I can check out WOT again, THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT

No I don't, but if someone tells me where to get one and where to hook it up I will. I'm thinking the same thing as you Ally, if you've heard me talk about my terrible runs at the track you'd know I always cut a 1.8 or 1.9 60ft and have yet to break into the 12's because it studders at top end WOT and seems to cut in and out in 3rd gear WOT. It's done this each and every run I've ever made BUT ONE, that was finally at least a 13.1 ET at 104.5 MPH. We all know what happen on the last attempt.
I may finally break down and get this to end that possibility
This Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator and Gauge Kit is needed to adjust extra fuel pressure when using the Upper & Lower Pulleys, that generate between 13 to 15 pounds of boost pressure, along with the reprogramming of either our Performance Chip or the Performance Flip Chips we offer. You can safely adjust the fuel pressure, upwards from 40 lbs. static to 42 lbs. to help eliminate knock retard that will be present with the modification packages we recommend!

Rob: I d/k if the reg. will help other things......but we have no "knock retard".
