Poll: Who has had trans trouble?

Guys I'm taking a poll on how many trucks have had trans trouble, if it was replaced under warranty or if you had a high performance rebuild.

My 40K trans is going south, and I'd like to know how common these problems are. I've been around the site for a while and know it's pretty common...so fess up!

I went threw 3 stock trannies, 2 under warrenty

I went threw 1 moster box, but that was pretty much a default in the production sprag.

I'm now on my 2 monster box and I love it.

and I'm right around 40K on the OD.

I think the shorter poll would be for those who haven't had problems.

So....fess up. Who hasn't had problems?

I posted last Friday that mine thru a blinking o/d light that indicates an electrical(not mechanical) problem, I was about 5 miles from home and it drove properly, just the light blinking. I disconnected the battery and it has not come on again. Factory Tech posted that it was a 'fluke'.

So, I have 36,900 miles(some at the track--WOT) with no tranny problems !

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking that close to 25% of us have had trouble, I just need some proof. So fess up!

I've had no problems with the stock tranny or the Factory Tech tranny. When I had the built engine installed I traded the stock tranny for the Monster Box. Now, the aftermarket art carr torque converter, that was a POS!

I think I set the record for the quickest tranny failure. I had 5 miles on the odometer when I picked it up. I drove across the highway and was on the merge ramp on the other side when the tranny made a awful screeching noise, wouldn't shift, and the OD light was blinking. I just stayed on the ramp to the next exit, looped around and went back to the dealer. It had 5.6 miles on it, and they had to call and have another tranny flown in. Since then, I haven't had a bit of trouble.

Wow... what a horrible feeling. Just signed the papers for a brand new truck... driving home feelin great, with a smile on the face and BAM! The tranny goes out... Oh well, I bet you had another smile on your face when you picked it up...

I'm working on my 4th transmission. All have been replaced under warranty, as of yet. But my warranty ran up 600 miles ago, so anything now will have to be replaced with some type of built transmission. But many tranny problems here....

I had 18,000 miles on my tranny and I decieded to buy a Monster Box just because I knew I was going for speed. I'm no machanic but, common sense told me cranking on the drivetrain with mucho power, something would have to give. I think that was one of the best mods I have done yet. I have a peice of trash in mine now causing it to act up ,no ones fault ,except maybe that gremlin. The way the Monster Box feels I would like to have a spare.
