Arrow Belltech Drop

Just ordered the Belltech 2" front, 2" rear drop from them. Was wondering if anyone did this kit other than me. Or is there something I didn't read that this kit is bad for our trucks? Just haven't heard of many people having it, and I wanted to lower but still have a bit of a "rake" look to it. ANy feedback would be great. I'll post pics when I have a chance.

2001 Black L
-JL Diablo Chip
-JL Air Kit
-JL 3# Pulley
-Bassani Cat-back
-Some appearance mods, along with stereo

Soon to come: 2"/2 Drop, 20" Rims, DVD Player in the dash, ******** Tonneau Cover

When I lowered my truck I had to wait on the rear spring hangers so during the wait I went ahead and lowered the front 2" with BT springs and the rear 2" with BT drop shackles. It didn't look bad but I wanted it a little lower in the rear. When the rear spring hangers arrived I installed them and removed the drop shackles. It sits at the level I wanted now and looks good.

Do it, you've got nothing to loose.

Here's an old pic of my truck with a 2" front and rear drop.

im putting on 1' front and 2' back to make it level, cause if you do the 2'/2' it still wont look level cause your just dropping it down lower the same in both front and back. if you want it extreme low and Level you need to go 2/3 or 3/4, always an extra inch in the back to level it out. i'll post pics when i put mine on, in the mean time look up the screen name VINNE and look at his pics, he's got the 1/2' drop and 20's, that's what mine will look like but w/ no 20's (sorry vinnie, im not the baller like you)

cobra97snake,
What brand did you use for your 1-2 drop.
And also, where did you buy the parts/cost.
Thanks,

i searched for 2 months on best pricing and here it is: plus everything came within a couple days.

www.tirerack.com ------ $140 Eibach 1' front drop springs (i've always liked eibach i put the pro kit on my cobra and boy did it ride and handle nice afterwards.

www.stylinconcepts.com -------$45 Belltech 2' drop shackles. i was either going with belltech or eibach on the shackles and belltech gave me an extra half inch and look at that price! great price here.

Hmm...with the 2"/2" it still looks pretty high in the back Chickenears. Is that pic deceptive at all...because it looks like stock height in the back...

He's got 29.3 inch tall 20 inch tire on that truck.

Your stock 18"s are about 28"inch so it will be lower to the ground, but the gap won't be as filled.

Go with the 3/4 bell tech kit, its the only way to drop a L!!!

i think it's all opinon, cause i love a dropped L, but when i see the 3/4' drop the front looks great but to me the back looks too low. dont get me wrong the 3/4 is sweet but when my L is a daily driver, and i have to drive in michigan winter, and i tow my wave runner in and out of water, the 3/4 is too extreme, i think the 1/2 looks perfect. i was never into that "slammed" look, and if i wanted to fill the wheel wells in more i would get 20's, i love the way VINNIE's L looks. so it's all personal opinon.

I wouldn't say it deceptive at all. It does sit a good bit higher in the rear in that picture.

After I installed the rear spring hangers the truck sit level. I didn't like that and removed the drop shackles and used the stock ones. With this combo I came out with a 2/3 drop (a slight rake). Had I left the shackles on, the truck would have sit level and I didn't want that. One more inch lower in the rear looks much better now but be aware that it's a big job installing the rear spring hangers.

Good luck on whatever you do,

Tim

Thumbs up Belltech Drop

, ShadowLightning;

Get Belltech's 2/4 kit and don't use the rear shackles. Just use
the perches on front of rear spring and their 2" coils up front. Then your "L" will sit level! Mine is that way and looks great!

Shadowlightning... this is the belltech 3/4 drop with only the rear hangers on...put the stock shackles back on to raise the back up a bit. Have never bottomed out..but had to trim the rear axle bump stops about an inch. With the 3/4 drop it lowers our L's 2 inches in the front.

You guys are killing me!! Your trucks look great after lowering, but... Doesn't that make them harder to launch? What about handling and alignment? Last, I am running the JLP ram air, and at stock height it was scraping the intake scoop when climbing into my driveway. I had to cut off the flange below the scoop allready.

Question drop or not?

Do any of you have problems with alignment or your tires scalloping??? I want to do a 2/3 drop on my truck but do not want to mess with the alignment setup...
Any advice would be helpful...

when you buy the spings you can get an alignment kit for like $50, and just take it to a good alignment place (one with the laser alignment machine) and tell them to hook you up, and they will align it to a T
