Discount tire direct question
Discount tire direct question
I am in the process of shopping for a Winter Wheel / Tire package for my winter car... so the L can rest easy in the garage. Anyways, Discount Tire Direct says they have free shipping. So I was looking around and they have a nice looking winter package for $344 for my car. I think "cool" and add to my cart. Magically the dollar amount changes to $384! No matter what package you select, they add this $40 "tire installation kit" to your shopping cart. I was wondering from anyone who's shopped with them, is this neccessary? Can I remove this from the cart?
Thanks for any help... don't want to waste 40 bucks if I don't have to.

What is a Wheel Installation Kit?
Everything you need to safely secure the wheels and tires to your vehicle is included in this handy kit. With the purchase of one to four wheels, a wheel installation kit will provide a full set of lug nuts or bolts depending on the requirements of your vehicle. If you purchase tires to be mounted on the wheels, rubber valve stems will also be included. With the purchase of four wheels and tires, the wheel installation kit comes complete with a set of locking lugs as well.

At first I thought they were just trying to tack on some extra lugs for $profit$, but when they say the kit includes vavle stems as well... that gets me thinking. I don't get it, esp. when they say that mounting and balancing is included. Hmmm... I better call and figure this out.
