Question 4# or 6# which should I run

I just bought two pulleys. A 4# and a 6# I have heard that there really isn't a big differance in gain with the 6 over the 4 Has also If I get the chip burned for a 6# and run the 4# will I be ok?

pulley

If you install the 6# you will put the 4# up for sale shortly. Many guts on L forums have started with a 2 then went to 4 and then 6. So I just went directly to 6 and am extremely impressed with the results.
You know power is addictive- once you start there is no where to stop- everything is more, bigger, faster!!! so I recommend the 6# and good chip. You also should install the boost pypass if you do not have it yet. $4 asnd 5 minutes makes a big difference.
just my .02

I can't imagine why one would further overdrive the already overdriven supercharger for only 3 more HP?!!! 15 HP for the 4 lb. vs. 18 HP for the 6 lb. 3 HP!
Leave the spare at home and your power-to-weight ratio improves more and does not threaten to blow the motor.

Just look at the chart below. Now imagine that it extends to 16,000 RPMs. It's your funeral.

Actually torque is what you gain most with the 6.. The second Eaton graph has been around for 4 years that I know of...When Gen 2 Lightning's first came out in 99 EVERYONE said it's not worth it to go bigger on the lower pulley....well guess what? It is..Take a look at allot of your quickest Lightning's and they are running 4 to 6 lbers.. How many Eaton's have you heard of that have blown up? Freedom of choice makes this country great..

Yes detonation is bad That is why it is essential that you have a good working relationship with your tuner and run good fuel. There are a few high 11 low 12 second Lightning's out there with stock internals and no N2o and M90 Eaton's as daily drivers.

I have ran all size pulleys and will tell you that the larger pulleys work. All the pulleys I have used, the 5# - 6# pulley would be the one you should use. Make sure you get your chip program right. The torque and the instant boost off the line is what is giving better times. I now have a 8# pulley and it seems to work. Will be pulling some times down on Sunday @ E-Town.
