Saw in a Truck mag there's a guy out here in AZ.with tags reading "LTNGKLR" !Hope he shows up at the Truckin' Nationals next weekend!
Of course I may have to eat crow if he's faster,But I doubt it.
There aren't too many true "Street Cars" out here [with our heat/elevation and lack of track prep] that can run a 12 sec 1/4 mi.
Let alone 4900lb trucks!I only know of a handful of "L"s [Gen I or Gen II] up to the task.
Guys if your listening we need your support out there!!

I saw a WS6 with the license plate STNGKLR. I thought that was pretty funny, as I drove a Z28 at the time.
That was before, when any mustang could only hope to catch up to the gravel flying from an F-body's back tires... days that are over now.
I have confidence though, that the next gen Camaro (if they make it) will have a Z28, RS or SS version that will hand SVT it's ****. Ford did wait until it knew GM couldn't answer before it introduced the 03 Cobra...
Sorry... my GM heritage is taking over... heh

If gm does bring back the f-body it will not be a true f-body but a rebadged holden sport coupe. Looks similiar to a monte carlo or something along those lines. It would also be a 350 hp front wheel drive w/ a 6 speed IF they decide to rebadge it and sell it in a few years

I was behind a Gen I Lightning and a Dodge Viper R/T last night coming home from some races. I have no clue what the Lightning's driver did to that truck, but it dusted the R/T through the intersection and down the road. From what I saw while trying to keep up in my stock Gen II Lightning was the Gen I walking away from the R/T with ease.
His plates read: INSTG8R
A Gen II that I saw run mid 11s at the speedway had plates that read CHEWMUP, and I remember seeing a highly modified True Blue Gen II Lightning (sounded mean!!) with EATSRTS on his tags.

I think that what badblack is talking about is the Pontiac GTO. They are bringing it back, but based on the Austrailian Holden Monaro. It is rear drive, with a LS1 small block and a T56 tranny. I don't know if there are any plans finalized for any kind of f-body replacement, but I heard somewhere that they might base something off of the new SSR platform. Here is the Monaro-

I'm an admirer of all cars but putting 350HP on a front wheel drive performance car is ridiculous.. I mean we can't even get clunks in our front ends 100percent corrected and on top of that 350HP??? Youuch!
