Another Problem!
Well I put Toulene in my tank and has been running like a beast! Today at WOT the motor winding out without it going into gear. It like fell on its face. So now the RPMs go real high without it changing into 2nd gear. I have to let up on the pedal to get it to change. Anyone with a suggestion? My tranny has 2000 miles on it and I have the stock converter in. Could this be a tranny problem? If so I will ask the Expert. Thanks Tim

I have heard it slip , but me will check it out! Thanks Doug. I checked it out , it looks fine. When I changed to a #4 from a #2 I used the same belt. I had to break of that peice on the tention pulley so it would fit. Its feels tight. I will drive it to see if I hear the belt slipping. These trucks screem in cooler weather, on this stock block I be scared of my JDM chip!

I checked on the pulley it don't seems to be slipping. With the chip in it changed into 2nd gear at 3500 rpms, and it was hard! I took the chip out and it still did not want to change. Not much of a differance. So I will ask Gregg. I hope its simple fix!

2nd, I know you put new plugs in your truck recently. What plugs did you put back in and what is the gap?
Also, did you let your tranny temp get warmed up before the incident happened???
Sometimes the problem is something simple.
Well J.D the plugs and motor is running real good. I just drove it agian and it don't like to shift into 2nd gear. If I let the pedal off it sometimes catches. I can't drive it like that ,I was headed to Rodney's but it too hard to get it to change. If theres a problem with the tranny will it show up in the codes in the computer? If so I will get it ran tommorrow. It still has Toulene in the tank, 1/2 tank to gal.
Check you voltage at the TPS. If it is only shifting when you let off the throttle this is a likely suspect. Just had it happen to friends truck. His TPS went bad. He had the exact same symptoms. Checked the voltage and it was 0.0. Changed the TPS and set the voltage and it was back to shifting normal.

Happened to me the other day. Doug is right no boost SUX
Did you have to take the pulley off to find this out? I ran the codes a miniute ago and no codes were found. Would that TPS voltage show up? I also noticed that I had my overdrive flashing. Could my stock converter be bad? Im going to do a search now, done tried greggs site could not find anything. Thanks
