Fellow L owners, has anyone tried Mobil 1 15W-50 High Performance synthetic in your Lightning? I just bought a six pack of it and am going to give it a try, along with a K&N Gold oil filter, part no. HP 2010. This is going in my new built shortblock that has about 1000 miles on it, John H.

 

I was wondering if anyone puts synthetic in a new motor. I thought the rings would need to seat before you use synthetic. I think I'm leaning towards Royal Purple. I would like to have it in the tranny, differential, and motor.

 

SVT recommends you wait between 6 & 8K mi. before using full synthetic motor oil, and use 5w30 or 10w30.

15w50 seems a little thick.
