Hung with a Porsche.....
Carrera, brand new. I pull up to the light and this brand new(temp tags) blue Carrera with a lady in her mid 20's pulls up next to me. I'm looking at it.....then the light turns green, i drive as normal. But I always like to be the first out out from the light, so I accelerate to get ahead of her. Then, I hear the Carrera down shift, I look over and it goes! I punch it also (doing about 15mph) and my front bumper is at her back fender. By 90mph I was a little past her front bumper, she was right next to me for 75% of the race. After I let off, she looks over with a big smile on her face, I wave, she does the same and turns off. It was the closest race I've ever been in. Those Carrera's are fast

I just bought my wife a 911 Carrera and there is no way that car can hang with my truck...even with the 6-speed. Bone stock the Porsche will run 5.0 second 0-60 and a 13.5 at 105-106 in the quarter. The car would barely hang with my truck when it was bone stock, much less now. And the upside to that is the fact that you can't do much to the new N/A 996 motors to get more power out of them...I've looked into this one (short of a true GT3 motor from Germany to the tune of about $40 large). So, it appears that the wife still doesn't own a car that will take the L. Although the Carrera will start walking me at about 125-130 since it tops out at approximately 176. Now if it's a new twin-turbo you're running...there aren't a whole lot of trucks around here that are going to take that car in the quarter or top speed (4.0 0-60 and a 12.1-12.3 quarter with a top speed of just north of 190).
And pics of the wife's new toy...
I'm lucky enough to get to drive it to the gas station every once in a while and to the dealer for it's only oil change thus far...other than that it's off limits to me (although the wife doesn't know where to find the L keys either
).
