Hung with a Porsche.....
Must be something in the air... I got to run a porsche for the first time yesterday. Mine was a 944 body style with "turbo" on the back. Normally I can resist street races nowadays, but this guy was begging for it. He was driving erratically, weaving, etc. I initially let it slide but we came to a stoplight together, both of us at the head of our lanes and nobody on the road ahead (no cross-roads either). So, not wanting to initiate anything, I started out "normally" and watched what he did. Apparently that turbo takes a while to spool, because he started out slowly too then jumped ahead. So of course I get harder into the gas, just to let him know I was there and wanted to play. He's still accelerating so I go WOT and start creeping away from him. I didn't want to go too fast on the street, so as soon as I made it clear I was pulling strongly ahead of him, I let off. He goes past, not taking the clue.
So, luck of all luck, we hit yet another stoplight, both at the front and with the same conditions ahead as before. This time he's well aware of what's up, because I can hear him revving his engine constantly. I glance over and he's not looking at me, just watching the light. The light finally turns green and he gets a slightly better ET than me due to my always checking for cross traffic before entering intersections. I pound the throttle and the truck leaps forward like only a Lightning can. Seriously, he was 3-4 car lengths back in the first few seconds. I beat him so bad that I got out of it right away - it was clear this race was a mis-match. The best part was, he slowed down after that experience and never came up next to me again - he just hung back a few lengths, tail between his legs. Felt great.

Reminded me of a race I had in the mustang (back in the day) against a GN we used to call the space shuttle. That thing would pop, spool up, and leave you sitting there dumbfounded.

.........yuk!
