Smile Georgia and Alabama Crackers

Wife and I are taking a little road trip up to Cheaha State Park in Alabama Monday. Gonna spend Tuesday and Wednesday night in Cheaha. Probably spend Monday night in the Macon area. Lookin forward to visiting the good old U.S.A. If you see us passing thru be sure to give us a holler. Or if you live in the area come by and say howdy. We will be in the purdy red "L"

While you are up this way, you need to head up to the N. GA mountains, there are some nice twisties up there.

Hey E-LO

I did the Ranger Mountain school in 1969... Does that count? That was in Dalongana Georgia... Any old PJ's out there?

litnfast: I live in Houston Co.(Warner Robins), Ga. I travel back-n-forth on I-75 to north Macon for work. If you're headed north(Atlanta, etc.) of Macon. take the by-pass(I-475) at mile post # 156 instead of going thru Macon on I-75. You will pick up I-75 at about mile post # 178 and save about 9 miles.

Thumbs up Hey Dan

Still not sure what route I will take...if I'm still on 75 at that point I will take your suggestion...475 around Macon must be like 595 around Jacksonville. Saves you from some of that city traffic. We are not in a hurry. Want to hit some scenic back roads if possible...Thanks for the tip. Bill

Senic back roads - hehehe How 'scenic' do you want? Try this, head over to Tallasshee (sp) and take Hwy 27 north to Bainbridge GA and continue on 27 through Colquitt, Blakely, Cuthbert and on up. In Cusseta you will hit Hwy 81 (I think is the #) and left to Columbus. From there if you're tired of hte scenes take I-185 north to I-85 and head West to Lagrange. I'm pretty sure you will be headed toward Talladega National Forest .

That may be a little too far out of the way, but it is defiently a 'scenic' route.
