Had to pull 2 in. Hg of vacuum to smoke a Civic SI
I was coming back from the bank at lunch today and a newer Civic SI pulls up next to me at the light. He revs his engine and I hear the echo of the large 4inch muffler through his 1 1/2 exhaust. There is a slight drizzle, so I throw the wiper switch to brush the water smudging my view of the light. I give him a quick rev to let him know I heard his car fart. The light changes green, I watch the Autometer gauges change position. The fuel pressure begins to climb at least 4 ticks, the air/fuel moves to the yellow telling me I'm pulling quite a few rpm's over idle, but most importantly the boost gauge climps from 20 inches of vacuum to just a hair under 5 inches. As soon as I hit 2 inches of vacuum all I could see was his headlights! No need for boost this time. It was nice to know I had an extra 2 inches of vacuum and 19psi of boost if needed.

Hey 99,
How do you like your a/f meter. Was it easy to install and how do you correlate to real numbers? Have you matched it against a wideband?

The really funny thing is that he has no idea that you weren't on it. He might just spend a few more hundred an run you again. He's probably telling all of his buddies how the L wasn't that fast LOL
He gave me a thumbs up after the race, so I'm sure he thought I was on it. I bet these trucks still put out decent HP with all the mods even w/o boost. I had my belt off for a day and could still burn second gear shifts and spin tires very easily. Torque monsters.
