Funny Day at a Pontiac/GM dealer today

I met up w/ a buddy of mines who owns a 01 modded GT today at a GM/pontiac dealer today. His wife was looking for a New Tahoe. Well me and him were browsing around at the 02Firebirds and WS6's. I told him that I would love to test drive one of WS6s to see what it had.. Me and him go in the dealer and a jamaican salesman comes over. My buddy asked if I could test drive one and the salesman looks at me and tells me I probably couldn't afford the insurance on one and kinda brushed us off.. I guess also because I had just changed the oil on my truck looking ragged with a pair of holy jogging pants on... Me and my buddy got kinda got pissed and he told the guy that my truck insurance is cheaper than the WS6 and will probably outrun it from that dealer to the Ford dealer, which was almost 1/4 mile up the road.. (The salesman has never heard of a lightning and started laughing at us). I told him if i win, he would have to sale me the WS6 for $10,000 under the sticker price. If I lose i'd buy the car at sticker price...He looked at me as if I were crazy and asked what the truck had done to it.. I took him outside and popped the hood and he still didn't know what he was looking at .. He told me he had never seen a truck like it and backed away from the offer...Just thought it was funny..

Later..

I've never understood how you can be in the profession of selling vehicles, and not be aware of the competition or even what your own company makes in detail.

I have to agree with 02XLT. I was at a dealership once and the salesman kept on referring to the fact that the car he was trying to sell me had dual overhead cams which greatly inhanced road handling....

Tools.

02 XLT hit it on the head. Some are just clueless.

When I was daily driving my 1994 mtx Taurus SHO, every salesman would say, 'How ya like that 5-liter?'. It was a Yamaha-built 3.0L DOHC V-6. Better yet I had a service advisor tell me that my warranty had been voided due to the installation of a 5-spd transmission in a Taurus.

Funny thing about it was that my father was the GM of the dealer.

I'd go in and tell my old man about it and he'd just shake his head.

I sure hope you gave him a friendly little burn-out on your way out of the dealership!

Oh but of course!!
all the WS6s were parked right by the exit..The salesman was standing outside..As I pulled out, I smoked the tires and layed a nice line down the road for him to remember next time what a Lightning really is

Dodge dealership

Just a couple of days ago. I was dropping off a friend who had his Durango serviced(bleh).

The Lightning with the Long tubes and full exhaust certainly got all of the salepeoples attention... I saw a lot of pointing.

As I'm pulling out this one salesman runs out waving his arms frantically to lower my window. I do and he says "that's one nice truck, I could just listen to it all day"

hehe.

While looking for my mom a Tahoe, we pulled up in the little FL-60 and I think the entire dealership came out and had to take a look. It was kinda odd,
