MT ET Streets

I bought a pair of MT ET Streets and I live about 3 miles from the nearest strip. is it OK to drive on them to the strip or go through the pain in the a$$ and install them at the strip?

Also, anyone have suggestions for length of burnout prior to launch with these tires?

How about driving them 25 miles? Safe ? Or do it at the track?

what pressure do you run on the strip? I have heard anywhere from 12-15psi.

You heard wrong.......that is too low IMO.

I start with 16 psi cold....after my first burnout I have to lower them back down to around 18psi........than I am good to go.

MT ET Street- 26x11.50-16

Experimenting

First run was a personal best
12.880@106.13__60=1.940. 1700rpm, (Squeeze the gas) spun the tires-18psi

Second run was a hot lap
13.015@105.39__60=1.995. 1500rpm, (Mash the gas) spun like a top

Third run was a good cool down
Lowered the pressures to 16,Launch @ 1400,(Mash the gas) Hooked up better! Results: 12.798@106.45__60=1.894.

Fourth run was Cold. Real COLD. 50degrees
12.711@106.71__60=1.839. 1200rpm,(mash the gas) Felt good, still spun the tires.

The lower I launched, the faster I got!
Wish I had another few rounds

Also of note: the more I smoked them the better they worked. I didn't make but a little wisp of smoke on the first two burnouts. I probably over cooked the tires on the final burnout, but I don't think it hurt me any.

I think I "left some on the table". I can do better!

Fred.
