Just wanted to clear that up.
Sorry but that is not correct at all.

First off a BUSA and a ZX12 with the same size ride will beat GSXR1k or an R1 easily. Now personnally I have beaten a ZX12R on a 2k2 R1 but that was because I rode better. They are quicker AND Faster than the 1000cc bikes. Now around a corner that is a WHOLE new story.

OK,
so bikes it is. As long as we're beating this thing to death. It is the rider, not the bike, just as RevnR6 says. But, I went out for a ride with a GSX600, 1300 Busa, and a zx12. I have an 00 R6. I thought that with those bikes with 2 times the displacement would just smoke my little 15,500 RPM R6. I mean they are supposed to be the fastest bikes in the world. So I hear HUGE excelleration, not wanting to be left behind, I down shift 3 gears and hammer down. They could pull away, but slowly. Don't get me wrong I could hear the rubber on the tires chirp on their bikes through the gears. We were moving. After a half mile of straight road there is a corner. I waited for them to take the corner. Then small straight, then corner. These guys took the corners so slow that I thought that a dog or deer had pulled out in front of them. Once I realized that they were just having a hard time cornering, I waited till the zx12 hit the 3rd corner wide, I took the inside line and screemed past him leaving the corner on 1 wheel. Down the straight he couldn't make it up. I didn't see him for about 5 miles where we all waited. I'm not bragging, most riders are faster than I am. Just wanted to point out that the rider/driver of anything can make all the difference in the world.

Have you rode a GSXR1K? I don't think you could say this if you have. Go to the track and check it out. The Gix will kick butt. Stock for stock or even lightly modded the Gix will win. The only place the BUSA is king is top speed. If that is all you want then get a busa. If you want to turn and stop and run the 1/4 mile the quickest, get the gix1K. You get a bike that weights 100+ lbs. less and makes within 10hp and will ALMOST go as fast top speed. I've had my bike reading 186 before and let me tell you it is hard to find many places to go that fast for very long. I guess some people just like to ride the fat ones.

i have to disagree, if you look at all the mag tests, the busa wins some 1/4 tests and the zk12 wins some, i don't think i have ever read one where the 1k wins.

the only reason they are close at the track 100% stock is because of the clutch that limits the hayabusa to high 1.8 to 1.9 60's, a simple clutch mod (to make it the same setup as the 1k) drops about 3 tenths just off of the 60'

i have never heard of a 1k running 9's stock

not to take anything away from the bike, for a corner carver it's got gobs of power and is a mean machine, but with equal riders on each bike, straight line, the busa will win

I guess MotorCyclist Magazine would have to disagree with you.
