Jls street chip is garbage
D@mn man, I appreciate the warning. I've been running his street chip for over a year and 25K miles and loved it so far. Thanks for clearing this up for me

I just had a pretty positive contact with JL concerning a chip he was programming for me. We started out a bit shaky, but once we both agreed as to what the problem was, his customer service/response was first class all the way. All I know is he had it on his bench Friday morning, , and the UPS dude was knocking on my door here in sunny CA Saturday morning. That kind of response breeds loyalty in my book.

LOL

Some people love to stir things up, almost like a bull in a china shop!

I agree with all the other guys, Call Johnny I know he will be happy to help you out. I would also make sure the contacts are clean, maybee the chip isn't making proper contact with the PC board.

Also max HP isn't allways the most important thing. You want to look at how much HP you make across the entire RPM range, and also look at what the Air Fuel ratios are.

I have a few chips, the one I run on the street isn't the strongest one on the dyno, but for some reason works the best on the street.

So give Johnny a call fax him copies of your dyno graphs, and let him retune the chips. Sometimes it takes a reburn or two to get the program to fit your truck, and your needs. Just remember no two trucks are alike.

I just need a post in here before it's lockdown time.

I'm sure you'll figure out why your truck is so sick. j/k I'd be happy with that kinda power, with......... or without the chip or something.

I've had a bunch of trouble getting my chiped tuned, I never have it in my truck, so I run a 6# with no chip, no problem, no detonation, better than what I can say with my chip. I've even went down to 87 octane with my 6# pulley, no detonation, works fine! What about that kenne bell blower making 20+ boost, some of their test runs were with no chip, its not that dangerous.

Call Johnny.
Posting what you said is doing nobody any good. There are a ton of variables.
Did you let the truck cool down in between pulls?
Was the chip seated properly?
Maybe something else is wrong...

I had a problem (losing power on the top end) and I never once considered it to be a chip problem(and I was right. It was 2 bad coil packs),The tuners have been doing this for a while now and have a pretty good handle on the tunes.

If you do not think 17 RWHP is not alot then NOBODY can help you.
GO get a 250 shot of nitrous and complain it is only 228 on the dyno.

I was expecting JL to respond but since he hasnt I am going to close this. JBsvt - If you have an issue with an order from JL call him.. The info you have posted here is incomplete at best.

Issues with individual orders need to be taken offline.
