Grr.. Blown engine?
Damn, well I was driving on the freeway last night only doing 65, when my girlfriend and I heard a violent rumble and felt the truck start shaking. It sounded like a the tire went flat insantly and we were driving on rim, but all tires were fine. We pulled over on the shoulder and I visually checked everything on the outside/engine. I tried cranking the engine real quick only to hear make some crazy noise I can't even describe. So anyway, I'm stuck in San Luis Obispo about 3 hours away from home (SF Bay Area). I had the tow-truck drop the L off at a local blue-oval dealership, Perry Ford. The problem is the service dept. doesn't open until tomorrow
Well, looks like school/work will have to wait a few days... The reason this is so upsetting is because my truck as almost all of ours are, is relatively new with only 1 year under its belt with 18k miles on it. Anyway, I know my description of the problem was realy vague, but if any of you have asny ideas, feel free to respond.
BTW, truck is bone-stock.

Thanks guys, I'll keep you sll informed on what the problem is. Hopefully I get a loaner, I dunno though, because the dealership I took it to isn't an SVT dealership.

It took them about 2 weeks to fix my truck after the spark plug blew out. The extra time included the techs leaving off an oil galley plug and them having to R&R the tranny to plug it up. Downside is oil went everywhere and engine damage may have occured? Upside was I had a loaner '02 explorer which I put 2K miles on.
