As far as tire pressure, don't go under 16psi. I found that 16psi worked best for me(when I was running the ET streets). While doing your burnout, keep it in drive (overdrive off) and get the Rs up and let it shift into 3rd. Run until you see smoke then run about 5 secs more. I would run about 1000 rpms when getting ready to launch on the stock converter. If the track does not take the shock of the tires well (not very sticky) then bring the Rs up some more. It seems to be best to shock the tires by not bringing the converter to the top of the stall. But this will be harder on the grip to the track. You will need to practice to see what the track will take. When I bracket race I bring the converter almost to its stall so that the tires do not get shocked and helps with traction. This will not help with the best ETs.

Thumbs up Tonight's the night

Thanks Tommy, Sal, Gator, & all
We will find out tonight what works.
The weather is great: 30.31 barometer, 50 degrees @ race time, and low humidity. Cool Canadian air should make for record breaking times.
Thanks again.
Fred.

Thumbs up Results from Atco,NJ

First run was a personal best
12.880@106.13__60=1.940. 1700rpm, (Squeeze the gas) spun the tires-18psi

Second run was a hot lap
13.015@105.39__60=1.995. 1500rpm, (Mash the gas) spun like a top

Third run was a good cool down
Lowered the pressures to 16,Launch @ 1400,(Mash the gas) Hooked up better! Results: 12.798@106.45__60=1.894.

Fourth run was Cold. Real COLD. 50degrees
12.711@106.71__60=1.839. 1200rpm,(mash the gas) Felt good, still spun the tires.

The lower I launched, the faster I got!
Wish I had another few rounds ;-)

Also of note: The more smoke I made, the better we hooked. Not that I put on a smoke show, but the first two runs were barely a puff. The last run was probably a little too much smoke, but I don't think it hurt any.

Thanks Tommy.

Fred

Go Fred, Go Fred, Go Fred! Great times buddy. You are really working into the 12s now Your mph is great for only having a 2# lower pulley! Next time try 1100 rpms and easy on the gas. If you look at your 60fts they were better the more you shocked the tires. Hope to meet up at the track soon. My L will be completed today. Just have the electric fan and exhaust to finish. I may go to Atco tomorrow.

hold the rpm's at 2500/3500, till the smoke starts to boil
pull to the line in drive and bring the rpm's to 2500 for a starting point, go on the last yellow
Yell, "Who's your daddy" as your going thru the traps
