Top Fuel dragsters run 0 to 60 in .5x seconds. That takes 5,000-6,000 HP

If you fall off of a cliff it will take 3 seconds to hit 60.

That's almost the 5 G's of hitting the Fitch Barrier system!

It's not impossible, just not very likely that you are running around 3,000 HP in that car.

Just for the record your sig was missing from the above post.
rscoleman does have a very strong race car. There have been many posts about it in the past year. Not many lately though.

I'm not doubting that it's insanely fast, and probably faster than anything that I will ever have. Just hard to grasp that under 1 second part.

Actually, a top fuel car goes 0-80 in .8 seconds. Remember, a fuel car leaves from idle. My camaro probably hits 60 around .9. 2000 pound car, 4.56 gear, 5800 stall, and leaving the starting line with a trans brake at 5600rpm, at which point the engine is making 750 ft/lbs. I'm really not trying to brag at all because thats not my style...in fact my dad owns the car, I just drive (he's a wuss).

rscoleman,
I stand corrected, and now feel like an idiot.

That must be an absolute rush. I don't think that I even have the guts to run something that fast. Sure would be fun to try once though. Adrenaline rush for sure. Well at least somebody in here can absolutely smoke those Lingenfelter's

Smile the Lingenfelter's are a joke

http://www.ultima-gtr.info/

This is the ultima, it's been around for about 15 years now, depending on how you want to build it, it can cost as little as $30,000 and does about 150 in the 1/4, 220 mph top end. A Real nice car, I susgest surfing the web for more info. It's a car that for the price can hand Lingenfelters his behind.

BTW It only weights 2150 lbs and with a non moded 350ci it can do 0-100 in something like 6 seconds 0 -150 in 10 seconds, enjoy. The smarter models are pushing about 1000hp at 2000lbs, or right about 1/2 what a real F1 car is doing today, I've seen a vid of this car and at any speed it can oversteer or understeer just by the gas peddle, if I remember correctly at 150mph it would just light-em up.
