Any suspensions upgrades out there??

I lost handling performance when I installed my billtech lowering suspension...What do you guys normally do when you lower your trucks to get the stock handling (or better) performance back? Mines sure does suck right about now. Do they make any bump steer kits, or end links for our trucks? I figured by lowering the trucks it would handle a lot better but my stock height was a Heck of a lot better than this..I have the 3/4 drop kit. Are all urethrane end links the same for all drop lightnings are do they vary according to the drop?

Thanks!

Were to start? Lets see ,There is shorter endlinks, better shocks,Thicker anti-sway bar, panhard bar.Use the search button. There is a TON of ways to improve handling.
I know this is not a specific answer, but there is SO much info out there.

If you have the truck bottoming out in the rear, the first thing to do is look underneath at the rear of the pumpkin and you will see a cross member on the bed just above it. this cross member will probably hit the pumpkin on a hard bump. you can use a cutoff air tool to remove 2-3 inches along the length of the pumpkin. Also, I went with Hal QA 1 adjustable shocks, a little pricey, but well worth it. Also i took off the belltech front springs, and went with the western chasis lowered a arms with the original springs. The ride and handling is smoooth!!

Cabraco,

How much drop with the stock springs and Western chassis A-Arms? I also have the Bell tech springs (2" drop) with Doetsch tech shocks. I am trying to do something to improve the ride and maintain the 2" drop. Did you see a considerable improvement?

I used the belltech 3/4 kit originally, and got just slightly less than a 2' drop in front. With the lowered A-arms, I got the same drop. Maybe 1/8 inch difference. I took the original springs off right after I got the truck, so when I recently went back to the original springs with the lowered a arms, it was like putting new springs on, and I think I will get some additional settling of the springs. So to make a long story short( I guess its to late for that now), yopu should wind up with the same drop, but a better ride. Those QA 1 shocks made a big difference over the Bilsteins.

First what exactly do you mean by lost handling performance? More body roll? Rear end unpredictable? Figure out exactly what symptoms need to be cured then start.

I think 99% of use have learned to live with the bump steer

Which shocks are you running now? If you lower to much the stock bilstiens will not work properly. If you can afford them, go with the QA1's.

Like Vinne said look into new endlinks for the swaysbars, or get new swaybars. If you opt for new endlinks, contact SoCal performance for the adjustable rear endlinks (use the to find out more. For the front you can just get Addco endlinks, see link in sig for how to find correct lenght

Look into the panhard bar also, that will keep the rear axle inline with bed. Since the belltech kit constists of longer shackles, they have more sway then the stock ones, allowing the rearend to sway more.

Aslo, see link in my sig for lowering FAQ, and make very good use of the here, we have tons of info!.
