well they've always been out there, its just now there are more vehicles that utilize them. Ford isn't the only company using double din headunits anymore.

My question is how does a double din like that fit into our truck? I pulled my stock unit to replace it with an in-dash cd/tape deck, and found that the opening was no where near sufficient. Since the stocker isnt in-dash it slopes down in the back which eliminates the possibility of putting a true double din in. Unless I am missing something. Me and 2 of my friends are totally stumped. I have an '01 if it makes a difference.

Thanks

In order to fit a double din unit in a ford opening you must cut part of the air conditioning opening. It's a very easy job to do if you really want the double din which in my opinion looks much better then a single din unit which still leaves a lot of open space even with a filler.
