They do resemble a couple other tires. Goodyear owns Dunlop so that may explain the similiarities there. Still a great looking tire! Im sure these will be the OEM tires we see on the 03's.

SVT360- I work at the Goodyear (Kelly Springfield) plant here in Tyler. I work in the tire room where the tires are actually built on the ARFII, but spend time down in R&D as well. What do you do?
We also found out that the Union City plant in Tenn. is laying off 400-500 folks effective Oct. 1! The economy is not in the best of shape right now.

Those tires look sweet, I hope they handle just as good. I can't wait, in a way, till its time for new tires.

Here's an old post from a month or two ago.

I am an engineer for Goodyear at the Lawton plant. We are the facility that produces the F1 for the L and personally I think it is a great tire. If you are looking for a tire that has a little more performance, a much more aggresive look and the same tread life as the F1 please hold on .

Next week we have invited a select group of media to the plant, then to the proving grounds in Texas to introduce a new tire to the market, the Eagle F1 GSD3. Like I stated above it out perform the F1 that curently is offered for the L and has a much more aggressive look to it (a complete V shape across the cross section of the tire without any lateral breaks). We are schedualed to begin production of 17's in late October with 18's and 19's to follow shortly.

On another note I just bought a L last weekend and I love it. Thanks for the great info!

Now if they offered a size that would fit the Lightning.

It is about time!!!!!! But, I'm willing to bet the new design will come with a new, and higher, price tag.

Hmm, replacing the GS-C's too? That was the track tire I was going to look into. (I think, unless I remember the model # wrong).
