Today's dilema.

My wife took my 01 L to the dealer today. I had a heavy meeting schedule so she volunteered to take it in. It was a simple deal: the dealer agreed to replace my pitted exhaust tips under warranty.
She noticed a brand new turquoise T-bird in the show room and asked about it. BTW, she's on the list for a yellow one which hasn't arrived yet.
After they ran the numbers and some arm twisting on her part, they offered to do a straight up deal for the L. She'd get the Bird and I'd take over her Bimmer. My L has 30k miles, chip, billet rear-view, billet sills, AR TTII 20s, Dunlops, Pioneer Premier mp3 player, Infinity and Quartz speakers and a diamond plate tool box in the bed.
I'd lose my L, but my wife would get her T-bird.
What do you guys think?

Turquoise T-bird?! No way. She is just trying to teach you a lesson for having her do your errands for you.

i take all the mods off of the L and trade straight up. however, if you get a tourquoise one, you might as well leave your ***** in the lightning when you trade it in.

Whoa! You guys are harsh. After a discussion last night, I get what I've wanted all along.
1) Keep the L and add a few more mods.
2) She get's a new M3 Bimmer next year.
3) I start looking for a 56 Lincoln Mark II for a mild exterior custom with updated power train. (My weekend dream ride.)

This is my 3rd wife and I've finally learned that patience pays off!

Will keep all of you posted on the L mods and the Lincoln project.

How many miles on the wife and what is her trade-in value? Resale value?? How is she holding up? Lot's o miles left on her? She doesn't rattle when you first get her started on cold mornings, does she? Is she dependable? What are her 1/4 mile times? 60' times? Does she whine when you step on her hard?

If all the questions above can weigh out in the favor of the wife, then you really have a tough decision to make. Do what makes your LIFE happier. I already did what you're contemplating. I did it with my 93 L so my wife could get a Landcruiser she wanted real bad. But in the end, doing that made her more committed to getting a replacement for my 93, so she worked harder to help me get my 2001 L. If she's as good as I hope she is, you'll make out better in the long run. She'll see to that.
