Going to the track with the L for the first time

I was just wondering how you guys are lauching your L's at the track? Are you power braking it at a certin RPM or are you just staging and then when the light turns green are you just jumping on the gas?

Just wondering so i can get the best times out of my L.

Thanks

From what i've read it is best to launch of idle. This helps with traction because your not preloading the suspension by holding the brake and bringing your rpms up. I have also heard that it is best to launch ~1100 rpm. I have tried idle up to about 1500 rpm and they all were pretty close. This is all on a pretty much stock truck. I would suggest going and experiment launching off idle, rolling into the throttle, etc. until you find out what works best for you. Just go and have a good time

That about says it all.Go and enjoy yourself and get a feel for how it launches.
I have seen guys with F1s launching at idle, launching at 1700,going around the water box, through the water box,a little burnout,a big burnout, lower the air pressure, raise the air pressure.
There is no set way.
Time and R&D is the best way

I was in the same position a few weeks ago, I launched from 1100 rpm and that was all i did, did a small burnout to clean off the tires, dont do a big smokey one unless you just want to show off. Just go have fun too, thats what its all about.

just dont loose your mind when that tree starts going down like I tend to do. DO NOT nail the throttle......but im sure you already knew that...I know not to but cant help it sometimes....especially when you see the guy beside you getting a jump on ya.

Punch it hard and quick BUT ONLY LIKE 1/8 to 1/4 throttle,
this will load all the weight on the rear. Then within a split second, put that sucker to the floor. I got a 1.9 60 with F-1's my first try that way.

Don't wait for the light to turn green- nail it as soon as you see the third yellow.

The truck ran well and i was happy with the numbers it ran 13.6's all night. There was a little wheel spin but not much but my 60 foots were not that good always aroung 2.1 - 2.3 so i need to improve that. There were some other lightnings up there and one had intake exhaust and headers and a chip and could only run a best of 13.5 so i was very happy with my headers and chip running 13.6. I will post the whole time slips up this weekend to show the numbers.

Thanks for everyone's help.
