Question chip vs programmer

okay just bought a 2000 Lightning and Im ready to get the most out of it that I can. First question is that is a chip (be it a single or flip chip) better than getting a hypertech programmer? I also took the muffler guys suggestions and went to straight pipes after the cats with no mufflers but I get to much resinence in the cab at 65 mph. I also think that it has a little less get up and go, any one tried this?

Welcome to the "family" !!!

Nothing beats a "tuner" tuned chip.

Straight pipes decrease horsepower and
torque on this beast

My $.02 worth !!

Skip the Hypertech and get the Superchip Micro Tuner.

Put some mufflers back on! Some good ones are MagnaFlow, Bassani, and MAC. These trucks need some backpressure or you will kill your low end!

Welcome to the board and good luck!
