Unhappy Coil Pack tech Question...

OK Guys....who out there knows there stuff?
I snapped the 7 mm bolt on the aft most coilpack on the drivers side. I can secure the coil ok, but....does the coil pack rely on that stud for a ground? I will eventualy drill out the bolt, but I'm hopin' she'll still fire on all eight till I can.

you will be fine, the ground for the coil pack is supplied by the pcm, not a case ground.

later,

No problem. It snaps over the plug tight enough so you don't even need any other way to hold it down. Mine and quite a few other guys have been running this way for years. Believe it or not, someone snapped both my 99 and 01's coil pack bolt. BTW, It doesn't ground the pack.

Aaron

Walls in Sallsburry Ma has some of the 7mm bolts

I can pick up a heli coil kit right down the street from me.

We can pull the fuel rail, and maybee blower off drill out the bolt heli coil the hole and screw a nes bolt in.

Call me and let me know

it is a 5mm x .8 tread pitch x 27 mm screw.

No problem

I have 2 bolts on hold, one for you, and one for me. I have to go up that way tomorow and get my traction bars from the powder coater. So I will have one of the bolts if you need one.
