tired of squeeky breaks!!

when i wash my truck i clean the rotors as best as possible with running water and every now-and-then, i use break cleaner on them. then after 5 mins of driving, they start squeaking again. i have talked to other friends with lightnings and they all have squeaky breaks. i took my truck in for service and the dealership said that it is norml with carbon-metalic break pads. is there a different break pad that i can use to elimnate this?

thanx....chris

fronts are about 100 bucks and the rear is around 85 bucks but they last longer and you have a tenth of the dust from before and I'lll pay it with chrome wheels.

Chris,

I have Rabestos Ceramic "Quiet Stop" pads on the expedition and the Tundra. The original pads haven't worn down on the lightning yet, so I haven't put them on yet. They last tons longer, no brake squeal , no dust and little if no brake fad compared to the regular pads.

You can get them at checker or autozone

I think they run about the same as the other ceramic pads-- around a 100 for the fronts and I don't remember the price for the rear. Actually I am not sure if they have them available for the Lightning so my recommendation
may have been in vein.
