Gears
What year is your L? '99-'00 have 3.55 gears... '01-'02 have 3.73 gears... not a HUGE difference, but you can feel it. The higher you go, the more rpms you're gonna run, and the less mpg you're gonna get. I believe most of the faster trucks have gone to 4.10 gears... wouldn't go higher than that. Don't really know exact ET improvement, but you'll get quicker. Hope this helps.
Oh yea... got the airbox saturday and did the install this morning.
Thanks again & your cashiers check should be there soon.

I have a 00' L and recently went from 3.55's to 3.73's. There is not much difference at all. You feel a little more acceleration quicker off the line but not by much. The engine rpm's at different speeds are very close also.
I have a 2000L and have 4.10s in mine, what a huge
difference. As for gas mileage didn't see much of
a difference unless you got on it a lot. My truck
is a daily driver with 32,000 miles. I get 13-14
mpg around town driving easy. Freeway i have gotten as much as 16 mpg and as little as 9 mpg if
I am driving like a mad man.
