New Exhaust hangs too high... grrr!

I finally got on the JDM Silver Bullet exhaust yesterday. What an awesome sound! But there is one frustrating thing... no matter how much adjusting around I did, I could not keep the tips from hitting the body in the exhaust cutout. I am worried that eventually this will melt the body, and is causing extra resonation noise in the truck. Has anyone had this trouble? I was thinking maybe some longer exhaust hangers would help (the JDM uses the stock ones, and with the tips being bigger...) Or I could take the body peice off, dremel the opening bigger, sand it nice and repaint. Any ideas?

Loosen the clamps on the tailpipe to mufflers. Loosen the clamps on the front of the X to the cat pipes. Go by the tips and rotate down until you have a couple of inches clearence and put a thich towel or rag between the tips and the body molding. This will keep you far enough away once you start to tighten the clamps back up.. You only need a little clearence for the tips. Just do not have them making contact with the plactic molding..
