To all the old "99ers" who remember...
when we were all waiting to see who would be the first out with chips and intakes...I'm in that game again with toy I got back in July. '02 MINI Cooper S. It uses a much smaller brother of our Eaton blowers...probably around 40 c.i. if I remember correctly.
Ordered intake today...pretty funny to be doing this again. And the modding begins. Should make the blower louder just like on our trucks, although this thing has a much higher pitch to its whine! hehe.

Sounds like fun. Do the before and after dyno's. Looks to be a fun little car. Hammond, AC Schnitzer, and some of the other BMW tuners are doing aftermarket for them. Body kits, suspension, brakes, etc already out. Get out the check book.
I remember when there was only one guy (Sal) who was willing to experiment openly and share his successes. Times have changed, and the list of good, reliable tuners is longer. However, my compliments to Sal for hanging in there and pioneering the way for literally thousands of owners who now have a smorgasbord of choices when it comes to performance enhancing equipment.
Hey, is there a Mini Cooper Forum?? I'm really curious to see what goes on over there.............I love them little cars; I'd love to have a Mini Cooper S for a daily driver.............they were tested to run high 6's to low 7's in the 0-60, and mid 15's in the 1/4 mi.....................They must be an absolute blast on a autocross course!!

To all,
It really is a fun car especially since it has the Eaton on it. It makes going fast fun and effortless. It is probably around a 7.0 0-60 mph car but hoping for low 6's after mods (chip, CAI, etc.).
But, ya'll, what a GOKART!!! Imagine the kart that everybody rents whenever you go to the fair or putt-putt or whatever...it is JUST like that, literally. You just find a corner and turn the wheel...no slowing down necessary.
Many tuners now, I'm trying one called Rogue Engineering (like the name, huh?) with their cold air intake. Still trying to decide about chip...many German companies still developing software. But hoping for approx. 200 hp at flywheel when finished. It has 165hp now so that seems possible with forced-induction...besides it only weighs ~2600 lbs.
Oh well, anyway, if anybody gets a chance and you have a dealer closeby...go give 'em a test drive!! It's worth it for the smiles alone.

P.S. Still got the L with 48,000 on the clock. #807 of 1999....waiting for an '05 I guess.

Sorry, Miami, I didn't answer your q...
Probably, the two most informative boards are at Roadfly.com or MINI2.com. Please excuse all the idle chatter from the Brits on MINI2.com but I guess that's what you have to put up with when you buy a half British/half German car, huh? lol.
