I have gone 12.43 on F1s with a 6lb, good friend goes high 12.60s F1s/4lber

As everyone has said, 12's should be no problem at all.

I have a friend with a 2000 L stock 80mm maf, with just a chip and a 4lb lower pulley and an air filter has run something like 12.67 on F1's. granted this was with no tailgate or pass side front seat, but still this is solid in the 12'80s even fully loaded.

my truck ran 12.50s regularly and some 12.40s full trim with a 6lb lower/1.5 upper on F1's

I wouldn't bother with a upper pulley, they are somewhat of a pain to put on, even bigger pain to remove if you want to sell your truck or need dealership service. furthermore, they are outdated now that there are lower pulleys available in larger sizes 8lb/10lb etc. and I can't imagine anybody swapping upper pullies with any regularity. there is simply no need. my truck drove every day for 12,000 miles (and is still driving today somewhere) on the same tune that it went 12.43@109 on the track. there is no need to switch, get a safe tune and drive it.

hope this helps.

later,
chris

PLUGS! Get rid of the stock plugs. Go with TR6's or Denso's. I run the TR6's with a 4#er and chip.

Word of advise!

If your in Canada do what I did. Look up Sean Hyland Motorsports.

They aided in me installing a DOHC Navigator into my 1999 SVT lightning.

They also ported and polished the heads and intake assembly. Also in the swap look at their intercooler platform, I used the ones they use on their SHM mustangs. Works very good.

My truck still has wonderful driveability and gets 14-16mpg on the highway.

Truck runs deep into the 11's, if you don't want to go so extreme then just do the repower, with no p&p and you will be totally satisfied.

My goal is to repower the 2002 True Blue I have with another DOHC but do most of the port work myself. They showed me what works and doesn't with porting on DOHC engines.

Also you'll have to upgrade the tranny, run a level 10 ranny and a precision industries stall converter. Kind of costly but you get what you pay for.

Need any more advice just drop me a reply!
