Just drove my first lightning!!!!
Well this is post numero uno for me on this site. Right now I own a 2002 X sport which I love and made some nice mods to it, but there is one prob.....NOOOOOO POWERRRR!! So I wen't down to my local dealer which is number 1 in the usa and decided to look at the 25 lightnings that they had in stock. I found an 02 black lightning and fell in love with it, it is the most amazing truck I have ever seen. After a little persuading the sales dude let me drive it around the big lot they had, he said "wanna punch it and see that svt power?" I replied "HELL YA!" So I pulled to an area with about a 70 yard clearing and punched it....WOW!! I got thrown back in my damn seat!!! All I hear is the supercharger whining and tires screaching! Needless to say, this was the fastest car I had ever driven, for crying out loud it whipped my 99 GT stang!!! I will be purchasing a blue lightning in March when I turn 18 and just wanted to let you all know that I love each and every one of your trucks!!! Soon it will be my turn

Well I'm debating that right now....I really want the sonic blue like on the 03's but I already have a kenwood indash tv and the 03's come with 6 disc changers, I don't wanna pay for one if I'm not even gonna keep it, I mean I want all the extra added features of the new lightnings but I don't wanna pay for them!! I know kinda stupid but hey, I think they are some good reasons! Heh, anyone know how much the price will go up for the 03's?

Price
I went to my local SVT dealer as well and he also said NO WAY on the X plan. He stated that for the 02 he would take $800 of the sticker to place it at $31,000 and he said the 03 will be about $1,000 more. He did say that he would do the X plan on the HD truck. After it was all said and done the HD with the moon roof was about the same as the L. It is a tough call between the two. The major difference is the HD has 20 less HP but looks REALLY COOL. I guess I just have to scrape my penny's together now

Yup, about 20 different lightnings, all 02's. Since galpin in los angeles is the number one ford dealer in the world they get first picks at all saleens, roushes, and svt models! Galpin also said no way on the x plan for the lightning but in 6 months who knows what will happen, I'd be happy with an 02 for 30,000, maybe they will work with me! By then they will be stocking the 03's so maybe they will want to get rid of some "lowely 02's" (being sarcastic!). And as for gettin a lightning at the age of 18, lets just say that I kind of earned it, (please don't take that as being conceited!) I was hospitalized mostly all of my junior year in highschool due to an illness that I have recovered from, anyways I was almost made to repeat my junior year!!! The school wouldn't work with us but we made a deal that if I wen't to summer school and got straight A's in all the classes that I could take than I would be allowed to pass on. I achieved this goal and am now a senior (hard to believe for me)! I work part time and am able to afford the lightning by getting big old A's on the report card! Meaning that if I drop below a 3.5 G.P.A then the lightning goes away and I'm S.O.L! Anyways I'm just ranting and raving now, still can't get that truck out of my head!!! I'm about to go to the dealer for the 10th time, just to sit in it for about an hour and marvel at the engine! The ford lightning is my dream car, while other kids are looking at ferraris, porsches, and what have you, I was looking at lightnings! I've watched them grow from when they were first introduced, and I will get my dream car!
