Talking mmmmm...hard turns....fun

I was looking at some pictures that were taken of me at the last AutoX event I went to and he caught me in some really hard turns. The suspension dosn't show it much, which rules (I'm -very- happy with my setup), but take a look at the air freshener hanging from my mirror:

It is so much fun...if you havn't done it, you should atleast do it once...stock suspensions have a ton of body roll, but its just as fun!

Thumbs up

Daniel
Sweet. Your new setup has really gotten rid of the body roll that you had before. It doesnt even look like you are turning but you can tell from the Lightning bolt air freshner that you are . Hey im guessing that you put those 4 grey marks on your tires? Did you and if you did why?

In autox a lot of people chalk their tires to determine if the sidewalls are rolling under hard turns. Its a way to judge if you have adequate air pressure, and how well your alignment and suspension are dialed in.

I know you've done alot to make it handle so good. Could you give us a quick rundown or maybe a link to what all you've done.

Sweet Pics Daniel! I guess L's do other things well beside going in a straight line , the other autoxers are usually surprised when you show up in a truck

2Cool was on the mark about the white marks... I use it as a quick measure of tire roll...

I'm running BFG R1A's which have been great, but they're not available anymore. :( I'm going to try a Goodyear that Spike introduced me to once these are baked.

I'm usually the only truck there, every once in a while another shows up, but not too often. :)

Mocklab, I've got it listed out in this thread: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=87939

Galaxy -- yeah, its great. :) Though I wouldn't mind trying it in a Z06. ;)

Where do they class your truck for prepared? Haven't seen anyone here but a few Rangers in Sport Truck class.

As for the tire issue... thats why I use the Miata for Solo II, 205/50/15" race compound tires are much much much incredibly much cheaper than 18" anythings...

Cliff - I hate you, I spent over an hour of my sleeping time trying to find that picture last night on the net. I gave up when the search words were becoming blurry.

I showed that to my friend and he thought it was awewome.

here is a few pics of his truck doing auto X at the old airport. His truck is a 98, with SVT wheels and front end. I think i'm going to give it a try in my truck in october, but kinda woried about the F1 tires.

Take a look at his tires, they are almost comming off the ground

Capt ... Ayup, it took me all morning at work and a trip
home at lunchtime to find it ... It fits Daniel to a "T", eh?

2Cool ... I'm classed "E" Street Prepared ... "You have
a super charger -- you can't run STOCK ..." so the
GT 3000 whups me by a second or so every week ...

Phillip ... They stopped letting "regular" trucks run
after they had someone roll over in Paducah. They
weren't gonna let me run, but the steward said to
me, "Trucks are a lot more prone to rollover, since they
have such a high center of gravity, so be careful in
the slalom sections, and we will let you run."

Then after the first few races he says "DAYUM, that
truck ROCKS. It handles better than 60 percent of
the street cars out there!"

So now the CKRegion is "Lightning Friendly" and we
had three at the last SOLO II (PIC ABOVE)

At least I got a Standing Ovation for the burnout
FTD was 38.7 and I ran a 44.44 beating most ricers ...

SVT_KY, since my truck is lowered, do you think I will have much problems. I know I will be getting a larger front sway bar and will be adding a rear one.

And one more question, did you run your F1's in the race and if so, how did they do. I've only got about 1k miles on mine and they still look new, HAHA
