Ground effect(s) previously painted red?

Washed the truck today and found a 2.5 inch crack in the pain on the left, middle ground effect section (part beneath footstep/gas cap). Silver top coat, red middle coat, then black underneath that (dull greyish black - unpainted color). I wonder if all the ground effects sections were previously red? Theres no way to tell other then when it cracks..........

Looks like it will eventually peel off easily. Do they do warranty work for the paint? I have a few scratches on the bumper I could get fixed as well.................

same here

My exhaust rubbed some of the paint off in the skirt opening and it's red underneath the black. So maybe they were all born red?

Its that Ford found out that silver was a more popular color over red, so they just "killed" some red ones to make silver ones or something..............
