This is kinda off topic but not really. I just found out that my nextdoor neighbor who is a BIG car guy (he has an 01 M5, 93 Cobra R track car, 91 SHO heavily modded, few mustangs, etc) is really good friends with one of the top engineers for the 03 cobra motors. He had lunch with him the other day and of course they were talking about cars. This engineer said that the main reason they put the manley rods in the 03 cobras is because they couldnt keep a motor together without them. This may be old info to you but I just think its cool that my neightbor is best friends with a ford(SVT) engineer. Now I may be able to get some "secret" info in the future about about new model Ls and cobras.

 

I think it's no secret that they couldn't keep the cobra motor together with stock rods. Alot of Lightning owners have already figured that out, you included Joe As far as the engineer giving out "secret" info at lunch, I don't think he would be a SVT engineer long if he does that. Atleast thats what I think, or something......................
