Thumbs up

Longtubes. Shorties do nothing for our trucks. I got JDM's SS Long Tube Headers and high flow cats bolted up to my Bassani Cat-Back. The Sound is just sick i love it. I thought the cat back alone was loud but with the Long tubes its about 10 times louder hehe . As for power there are some poeple who said they gained 30hp and others who said they got like 7. I never dyoned my truck before the headers so im not sure. But i can tell you they do help the engine breath alot better and i think they are worth it. The only thing i know that you lose is a 1# of boost for them since the loss of backpressure. which is no big deal if you are running pullies . If you got the money i would suggest them. They are like anything else on our truck maybe alone you wont see gains but along with other mods you will.

It works. There are dynos with gains, there are dynos of next to nothing gains, there are SOTP gains, there are no SOTP gains.

dynoed before and after with a/f readings

5hp and 7-10 ft/lbs

the sound is awesome, but i don't believe it makes the engine breathe much better or there would be better power gains, i'm running a 6lb lower, and if no gains are coming from there, they ain't coming

Question

Is a chip required for long tubes? I have a air intake, Bassani Cat back, and a few other mods, but NO chip or pully. I would like to add the LTs to the setup but, not sure how the truck will run (rich/lean/or will it be ok) Your thoughts please......

Dan (thepawn) is running LT's and intake kit with no chip. So far he's had no problems.

i would not run anything that could possibly change the airflow without checking the a/f

i just finished up putting my jdm exhaust and long tubes on and it sounds almost as good as my harley.top end is better from about 3500 to 5500. fit is darn near perfect and easy to put on.expect to spend 6 to 8 hours putting the complete system on.
