Help!!!

I need some input PLEASE!
I am having a problem accelerating. At idle and light gas, the L runs fine. When I get into the boost, it feels like it is dropping off, badly! My gauge shows full boost. It just started doing it this afternoon. This morning when I parked it, it was fine. If I gas it in park, it does the same thing around ....say 3000 rpms.
Any suggestions on what it is? I was thinking the fuel filter, but not sure what it does when that is bad.
HELP!!

Wayne,

I just had the exact same problem last week. It was the fuel-pump hose/clamp coming off. I could nurse it along and it ran (sort of), but as soon as I got into it, it just lost power.

Yup.

And to my great displeasure, it happened to me just 3 weeks out of warranty. I filed a claim w/Ford. Hopefully I'll get a couple $$ back.

I don't know.

However if it's dieing under load it sure sounds like fuel starvation to me.

It's a 2001

Changed filter and reset computer and new gas as low level came on. No change. Any more suggestions?
Is it hard to get to the fuel pumps? Anyone have a how-to on it?

How To

Wayne,

I have a how-to, but it's on old fashioned paper. I can fax it or you can pick it up.

I may need to get those directions from you. I got the codes checked. Lean banks, 1 and 2. Need to get a gauge to check the fuel pressure now. Most likely the pumps or T.

Thanks everybody for the replies. It appears to be in the fuel pump area. Pressure gauge showed that to be evident.
Thanks again. Time to go to work.
