Where to find THICK plexiglass?
yeah lowes is the worst place!!!
i switch to home depot when eagle got bought out by lowes.
working with plexiglass is hard though, get ready for some work. also protect your hands from slivers, my friends dad owns a plexiglass business, and he told me about something with cancer and plexiglass slivers in your hands, it could be BS though.

RT,,, expected to find you downtown on saturday when I was up there,,, the bars are great over there, hardly saw any L's at all on the whole trip,,, just one in tinley park, and another one in Michigan City. But as I said,,, everywhere I looked,, great "lemonaide" expensive drinks
and great bars/clubs.
oh yeah,, and to keep this on topic,,, might you be planning on building a sub enclosure, or is it for work purposes.

As Tallywhacker and Jerry said, go with LEXAN. On our trailers we have a back door that keeps the warm air our and cold air in and vise versa and in the first trailer we had plexiglass put in and it did good for a while but started scratching easy, if that happens, plexis help it but not totally. On the second trailer we put in Lexan. So far after 6 months no scratches or anything. Still looks awesome. I normally just take a big cotton shower cloth and get wet, clean it, then dry it off and its as clear as can be.

any true value hardware store either has it in stock or can order it for you. I know this for FACT because my family owns one, so if they tell you otherwise tell them you know they are full of ****. 1/2 is very expensive. a 4x4 sheet was like 50 bucks!!!!
What are you using if for anyhow???

Actually lexan is softer than plex and scratches much easier. i would not try to shear 1/2" thick lexan as the edge would really be nasty and hard to finish out. think about it you cant shear plex because it will shatter, lexan shears because it is soft. you can form plex with heat. if 50 for plex sound expensive, go price lexan.
stay with plex. you can polish the edges by starting with 220 and working thru 600 then lightly buff. it can also be glued with a solvent based liquid that dries very fast.
most glass places are going to go pick it up from a plastic place and mark it up. try looking under plastic in the phone book. i now of places here in houston but that doesnt do you much good.
