Exclamation Goodbye Lightning

Well guys, it's time for me to move on, and I am no longer a owner of my former 02 True Blue Lightning. I traded it in today, for a brand new 02 Suzuka Blue Honda S2000. I simply got bored with my Lightning due to a lack of a manual transmission, and straight line acceleration just get's old after a while. I'd like to thank everyone as this has been one of the most perfect resources for a paranoid person like who. I would especially like to thank Gregg Evans, Sal, and other who were willing to answer my constant questions via email, AIM, and on this list. If anyone is looking for one helluva used 02 True Blue Lightning with 6600 miles on the odo, brand new Redline engine oil, redline rear differential fluid, and Redline transmission fluid, keep your eyes open since a regional Ford dealer bought it from the Honda dealer about 2 hours after it was traded in. I live in Cincinnati, OH and i'll truly miss the Lightning, but it just wasn't for me.

Speaking of Hondas.....

My GF just put some good faith $$ down on a 2003 Pilot EX. I get to keep my 02 L and she gets a mini SUV.

?!?! I guess you'll find all that and more in a honda. My truck does pretty good in the twistys and I never miss a shift.

I hasd one for a while...silverstone grey....I enjoyed it. If I had the cash it most likely would still be around. Change the rear end fluid often..I saw one of those blue ones today..looked like a mazda at first glance. Not bad but I still prefer the silverstone.
Oxblood interior? Hell you even get a glass rear window. A friend has one..he was putting up one of thoses awning type carports in front of his single car garage and stepped down off the ladder....tripped on a bad ankle..fell backwards..with the claw...landing in his front 1/4 panel....Now his Nick..is of course...Claw Hammer.....Wring it out....watch out..it takes a bit of getting used to as short as it is..when it starts to come around it can happen O so fast........That tach will mesmerize you.

If you like it loud..get rid of the factory speakers right away..another head unit and maybe buy the factory sub....The stock stereo is poor and of course space is at a premium. Chick magnet.....So you have to have the tunes...

My rear tires needed replacement at 6500 miles....they were almost bald....

Is this S2000 a truck? Sorry if it's not. I'm not up-on the ricer scene and it's a pity that you would trade a "king truck" in on anything.

BAD BAD BAD boy.

Smile

Thanks for the advice and criticism guys. I'm not sure whether it was a wise move or not, but I am having 3 times the fun that i've ever had in my Lightning. Maybe the kicker for me, is that I get bored of automatics very quickly. I like the idea of being able to row through 6 gears, and the idea of something that handles like crazy. I also like the thought of being able to cruise around town with the top down. I loved my Lightning, but it just wasn't for me.

Twisted, thanks for the advice, and that's a beautiful S2000 there. Interior space is at an all time premium, but I love how you are literally strapped down to a ****pit that feels like something you might find in a F1 race car. I plan on leaving this car completely stock, but although the audio system sounds better than the $2 system in our Lightnings, it does need a bit of work done to it. As far as torque goes, it won't be missed with the 9000rpm redline these things have, and the 6 speeds are so closely geared, that you'll always be able to keep yourself in the powerband.
