You are right, i'm really not a 1/4 mile fan as accelerating in a straight line really doesn't do it for me. I actually tried to buy an 03 Cobra, but the only dealers that even had an 03 Cobra left in stock absolutely wanted to rape me, and only 2 dealers had one in stock period in this region. If they were willing to sell for me at sticker, it would have been the obvious choice since it was about $2k over the price of the S2000 and you get a lot more stuff, but I wasn't willing to pay these outrageous prices they were demanding. One dealer who will remain nameless for now wanted $40k for a coupe!

When I bought the S2000 they had a five grand mark up. I bought mine the first day it came off the transport..They sold 5 that day. I paid sticker....Hell I want even pay the SVT gouge that alot of thoses dudes try to tack on. Here the minimum is $1500.00 on the sticker just for being an SVT. They try n justify it by saying they have to purchase a permit from Ford to sell them.
Last Lightning I bought over in Pennsecola was on x-plan. went back a week or so later and they had the same trucks that came in with mine marked uo to $37500......evil people. I own several cars. Mostly I own Fords. I have owned Chevys...VW's...Datsun Z's..I have had at least one Merkur xr4ti since 1988. The first car that ever had my name on it was a 1974 Honda Civic hatchback.
That was back in the day when MAde in Japan really meant something....laughin` here. Yeah my Grandfather fought in the Pacific. I owned an 84 Kawa Ninja 900. I have a Buell now and love it. Some will shout Jap Crap...Old school..life goes on...If we let it.

I will admit...there have been times I've wanted to get rid of the L. I'm 6'7" so I don't fit all that great...and I do miss banging gears with a manual....and I'd like to be able to have room for 4 people. Plus, it seems to be a part-time job keeping the red paint looking freshly detailed......but then I hit the gas at about 50mph next to a lowered Corolla S with the big wing and bass booming....and as I see his surprised and envious face shocked by the acceleration and noise of a real engine...ALL IS FORGIVEN!!

Exactly. At 6'6", the Lightning may be the only vehicle which I can fit in with a helmet on. And it can nearly haul an S2000 in the bed.

Would you happen to know what Ford dealer bought your truck? I'm fairly close and would love to hear what kind of price they may have on the used L. I know it's used so my x-pin will not apply (and that's if anyone close would take it on a SVT).
That's exactly the color I wanted too. If it's at all close to my budget I will find a way to get it, if it's not all ready sold.

also 6-6 Its impossable to fit into any sports cars I find, The truck was the only choice but of course the best! I was gonna lay down 40k for a Chrysler prowler mainly for the looks since its not quite as suped like the L's but I couldn't fit; so L it is! and L it will always be

KyFordFreak, i'll see if I can find out for you. From what I was told, I recieved $27000 for the trade-in and the Ford dealer that bought it bought it from Jeff Wyler Honda for exactly $27k as well.
